So not committed...but maybe I should be

I haven't post in a while. After I got all excited about getting back to posting I got too busy to blog. Sounds like a good excuse but it's not. And now my computer is a little, shall we say, malfunctioning. It's an older laptop, from 2005. Ancient in computer terms. And it won't boot. The good news is up until the week I'd been doing my Light Therapy consistently and regularly. This week I let other priorities get in the way and I slacked off. Not so tomorrow morning. I'm getting up early and spending some time with God before I drive back to Indy to help my friend move. Plus I need to finish my BSF homework too. My heart has been breaking as we go through the last few chapters of John. There's so much I didn't know historically about the Jewish legal system in Jesus' time. I feel so blessed to have the Old and New Testaments to be able to see the complete story of God's plan for humanity. To see all the OT prophecy fulfillment ...

Tonight

the hot sun dies for another day the chill comes quickly though unnoticeable until the ceiling fan is suddenly too cold the talk and gab is nothing old stories, old memories, new plans, new stresses the mix is odd and strange but weren't we always odd a movie...pedestrian the fire pit...still not permitted a game...too bored we sit and stare the silence building realizing we never really needed words

Pain

There is a great song by Greg Long called 'In the Waiting'.  It's a song that has been really helpful for me in the past when I was going through hard stuff.  Check out this link to hear it. Here are the lyrics. Pain The gift nobody longs for, still it comes And somehow leaves us stronger When it's gone away Pray I try and pray for Your will to be done But I confess it's never fast enough for me It seems the hardest part is waiting on You When what I really want Is just to see Your hand move I want a peace beyond my understanding I want to feel it fall like rain In the middle of my hurting I want to feel Your arms as they surround me And let me know that it's okay To be here in this place Resting in the peace that only comes In the waiting Time Time to let it go and just believe Trusting in what no one else but You can see Free Freedom from the fears that close me in When I can't get beyond where I have been, but then Again The silence ...

a different beat

he dances to a different beat he sings and hums and whistles a song no one knows or can learn to accompany he thinks with different thoughts he ponders and wonders what others think they know and doesn’t surrender to disappointment he walks a different step to music no one else can hear but if they could they would soon discover it’s not just a different beat it’s not just a different drummer it’s an entirely different instrument

How is this legal?

I’ve never liked coffee That sleazy coach in middle school who always yelled— Plumes of coffee breath would always come out his mouth That morning kiss on the cheek from Dad Couldn’t it come before the morning ritual? Or maybe without the coffee he’d kiss the fica plant instead. That bitter taste, even after the sugar The creamer The extra flavor The half and half That bitter, bitter taste that lasts Long after the swill was swallowed The obnoxious teenage boys and girls Acting all grown up because they did shots of Espresso As if maturity was measured by what one drinks, And how snooty one does it. The high school teacher who constantly lost the class Because that coffee stained smile Was just unnerving, alien and unnatural All eyes avoided the front Concentrating on everything but the Cheshire Those idiots who alternated between poisoning themselves Alcohol on the weekends (for greeks maybe more) Coffee for all nighters especially during finals week Sleep deprived zombies taking test...

It's a bird...it's a plane...it's Scripture Girl!

Just a quick note to appease those who have called for more blogging.  I do apologize--I tend to write less when I'm not depressed.  Trying to change that.  It's not easy.  You know what "they" say, 'You can lead a horse to water but you can't teach an old dog to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.'  Or something like that.... I'm developing a rep I rather enjoy.  For my Wed night Bible study I've been really digging into the Word to look for verses that support my answers and my thoughts.  I was initially timid about sharing all I'd looked up.  And I only share about half of what I look up because I'm thorough. But then a couple ladies shared how they had looked up some of the scriptures afterwards.  Someone really took to heart one of the questions and was encouraged by the scripture I'd found and shared. I think it's the influence of BSF.  Now, with BSF, the digging is confined to the passage currently being studied.  Th...

Blocked

It's a wall--insurmountable. Scaling takes mores than is within,  still must try. It's a mountain--immovable. To climb and hike Trecherous and frustrating. still must try. It's a frozen waterfall--impassable. Break through the cascade? Absurd. still must try. Obstacale?  Say hellooo to God. He's bigger.
